Louise O’Reilly
Louise is an exceptional illustrator, so in a way it would have been hard to make her a site that didn’t look beautiful. That said, over-designing a website with the result of it distracting visitors from it’s core subject seems to be a sadly reoccurring theme for many sites.
For Louise then, our application of her ‘brand’ and practice was more about a subtle interpretation of her working space and the botanical text books that she illustrates for and references.
On the practical side also, the site is built on our simple portfolio CMS rather than anything more complex or bloated, meaning the learning curve for Louise isn’t steep and the interface isn’t bloated with the bundled functionality of a CMS built for another job.
